Driver side dashboard display

Is anyone aware of any legal or moral restrictions on installing a display in the unused portion of the xB's dash? I was wondering if a screen for monitoring various sensors would be a good idea, maybe play a DVD or two (not while driving).

A TV shouldnt be illegal if it can be turned off. You can say its used for NAV.

If its a gauge its legal becuase its a gauge.
