Dumb question, pls dont flame, Amp placement
Ok this is why this site is here, right??????
I had an amp and sub put in my box
Sub is in an under seat cab, I wanted to hide the amp, tech suggested in the spare under cargo area, next to the spare
Ok its styrofoam, insulated, bla bla bla
Amp overheats, shuts down
any suggestions besides shooting the tech 4 being an idiot
Wanna keep the amp hidden
Please share your expriences with me, I want to amp the panel speakers too, but need a good place to put both amps
Im running Mono on the sub right now
Thanks

My amp does have a built in fan, I like the cpu fan Idea too
I saw something in some photos on here that I think I might try
I think Ill put it on top of the storage comp cover then build a small shelf that is open but will cover it that way Ill still have plenty of ventilation but not lose any storage space

It might be too much work, but why not swap locations with your XM under the seat.
I have a sub under the pass seat and an amp under the drivers. Makes for a short speaker wire run. I also built a small wood platform for the amp to raise it above the heater outlet.

I have a nine.1 and a nine.2x under the pass seat. Made brackets to "stack" one on top of the other with a 1/2" between.

Seem like you should be able to do an amp and your XM on pass side and leave your sub as is. Ditto on nice short wire runs!
