Ok I did a search on this and couldnt find the results I was looking for. On my 05 xB above the smokers tray are three dummy panels. Now I would assume that one was for the fog lamps, LED and Cupholders. But in reading the install guides I noticed that the cupholder and led bar switches have to have the holes fabricated. I bought my xB bone stock so any info on this is appricated.

 

You can just pop them out, they're good for switches.

 

I had the same question when I fist saw those, the stock cupholder lights that I saw at the dealer had the switch on the shifter console.

On that guide you take a paper template and cutout the switch area on the shifter console.

Other DYI cupholder and floor light guides have the switch on the pop outs you mentioned. Pop them out, drill out a hole for the switch, mount it, pop them back in the dash.

 

yea this is what I have seen done. I was just tryin to figure out what was stock. oh and I read the installs on toyotaparts4u thats how i know they aren't square switches.

 

The best thing putting a switch hole in the pop-out covers is if you mess up drilling the hole for the switch you haven't messed up your entire console, just the pop out plate.

 

Ahh, I see what your asking. you got three popout plates..no dealer accessories.
I know one is for the fog light switch if you have a fully dealer optioned Xb. As for the other two--I dunno. Security system feedback light and ??? Anyone?

Does the Xb and Xa use the same dash, maybe the cupholder and floor light go on the dash on the Xa?

 

Like everyone else said, they are great for switches.

If you get the FogLights from the dealer they will have the switch there, also the security light if you get the VIP security package.

Personally I have the FogLight switch and the Cold Cathode Lighting Switch from Randode Racing.... :D :D
