Default Factory Bazooka tube?

Do they already have wires running to the back cargo area for the factory option Bazooka tube?

If so, where are they located? IF not, where does Scion run the wires from?

wish i could help. but ive heard some stuff about the tube itself. most of the people ive talked to say the tube is a big waste of money for what you get. theyve all reccomended a brand like kenwood.

No, there are no wires there already. A harness comes in the kit for the Bazooka tube. It hooks in behind the radio (inline with the wire harness if I remember correctly). You can buy the harness seperately if you want to do a custom sub setup (I highly recommend this tactic since you don't have to hack into the harness to do it). The harness is around $40 or $50. If you have interest, I'll look it up tomorrow at work.

the tube from scion is a big waste of money.... Although the BTA10200 is a 10 inch 200W self amplified sub in a tube that is off the chain... It hits like 2 twelves... Not like JL 12s but I got mine installed for 350 with the adaptor to the factory set up. And I didnt need to buy an extra amp or find somewhere to mount it... its pretty nice.

I imagine the harness would work on any Bazooka tube, like the 10 inch 200W? I would love to know more if you were still looking it up grizzly :D

So, um, do those who think it's a 'big waste of money', have they bought it?
Yeah, that is what I thought.
Here is the deal.
I think it's great.I have one.
And, I have had plenty of peeps get in, and be blown away by it.

You know what? I'm not 100% sure if it would just plug in to any Bazooka tube, but that sounds like a reasonable idea. I do know that the wires at the tube end are fairly easy to decipher (constant, ign., ground, speakers) if you cut off the connector.

Part number for the harness is PTS20-52040-WH
I can sell it for $45 plus tax and about $3 to ship it. Say $51 total.

Let me know if you need anything!

Absoultely second that...i installed that bad boy myself and am seriously impressive with the quality!!!! Look it isnt going to make you trunk pop off like 3 15"s but its sounds and hits great. My friends agree that it makes the system 100 x better couldnt complain....Plus fits in the wheel well and i still have plenty of room in my trunk....too each his/her own but i like my trunk space and a beautifully hitting sub!!! Don't knock it til ya tried it!!!

Anyone have the specs on the tube? I have a Kenwood 1200w amp and Pioneer 600w 12" sub and hits hard with bass set to 5 and SSP set to Feel

Default Bazooka is fine

I totally agree, the bazooka tube does make the factory system sound 100% better. If you can "feel" it, then it is all good.

Agreed.

Does anyone with the Bazooka have an aftermarket head unit? I've been thinking about changing mine, but I want to keep the sub.

the plug on the sub probably has a 12v+, a ground, a remote, and the some speaker level inputs. I think all you have to do is hook these wires like you would an amplifier. I know that is how other powered enclosures worked when I messed with them....

In case you're not farmiliar with speaker level inputs, all you have to do is piggyback into the rear speaker(s) to get a audio signal...

If you use the Scion/Bazooka harness for your install, you do not need to piggyback/splice into the rear speaker wires. Speaker wires are part of that harness.

i think the point that he was trying to make is that for the $$ you can get something WAY better, to each his own on whether they like it or not - but honestly if you can get something better for $100 cheaper I think you would consider the other option a "waste of money". no?

i think the tube is good for what it does. now dealer installation fees, that's a different story. if you feel comfortable with audio installs, you can get a better model for 1/2 the price of the one installed at the dealer from circuit city. that is probably the way i'm gonna go.
