Pretty much ... Trenchcoat (my roommate/S.O.) and I made a cardboard template in the shape of the dash and used a ruler and compass to lay out the centers of the holes and space them evenly. Then I taped it in place, marked the centers of the holes with a scratch awl and drilled them out with a 2" hole saw. Laying out the holes is the hardest part. It took us about three hours to agree on the right spots to drill.

I had that cardboard template in my toolbox for months. I think I threw it away a few days ago ...

Remember to take out the combination meter (speedo/tach) and move the wiring harness out of the way *before* you start. The tech section has instructions under "Gauge Lighting (xB)" but they leave out one detail -- there's a fastener clip right above where the idiot lights are that has to be removed with an offset Phillips screwdriver.

ok cause i was thinking about getting the autometer 2-1/16" gauges and mounting them in that area....now is that 2" hole saw that you used work for that since the gauges are a ____ hair bigger.
