Flush mounting Alpine iva-w200
Just purchased an Alpine w-200 in my xb, and while it's an amazing HU I hate how it sits mounted. I really want to flush mount it kinda back in the pocket and try to put a door in to hide the HU like the TC's have, but don't know where to start. Can anyone give some info on how to start, what materials to use, and the process in general? I've obviously never fiberglassed anything before, so I thought this would be a good time to learn. Always wanted to learn how, so if anyone has any links or info on how to please post.
My digi camera broke, so I can't take a picture. I did find this pic on web of a custom xb done by street effectz. Hope they don't mind that i used their pic, but this is exactly how mine looks mounted. The top just sticks out to far. I would like it to at least be flush with the top of the dash piece, but even better if I could push it back a little further and glass the dash to fit it. i also had to take the Metra intall kit off cause the face would catch on the side fillers when closing.
interesting, mine seems to sit a little further back, but i remember that when i installed mine, it had to be that way because of the way the alpine moves.. but then again, you might be able to modify the stock radio brackets to let it sink back in a little further.
i found a pic.. but its not a very good one. ill take a pic tomorrow after i clean my box LOL its pretty dirty from sitting in the garage for so long.

I put my Pioneer double DIN in and I had to drill new mounting holes in the factory brackets so that the radios face wouldn't stick out of the dash so far. I used a trim ring from a Kenwood DDX-6019 double DIN radio to trim it out so there was no gaps around the radios face.
