Default Front courtesy lights staying on

I backed my car into the driveway this afternoon and let it run while I ran inside to do some things and when I got back to the car the front courtesy lights were on, and do not seem to want to shut off.

I checked to make sure all doors were closed and that the switch on the dome was set correctly.

Does anyone know what controls the dimming of the lights (ie: computer controlled, relay controlled)

I suspect a faulty relay.

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Check your trunk. Sometimes it does not close all the way, and your courtesy light will stay on.

Freaked me out too. I was driving down PCH and my dome light started flickering on and off. My last car had BAD electrical problems, so my first thought was 'oh no, not again...'

Thanx for the idea.

I have checked all the door switches as well as the trunk and they are all ok.

What about your instrument light dimmer switch/****?
Don't some have a "full on" position that also turns on the interior lights.
