Default Getting my in-dash double din screen today...

My Kenwood DDX7015 will be in today. What are your thoughts on this unit as far as if this unit is worth it? Also, what are some screens that are cheap that I can put in all 4 headrests?

Where did you get this unit from? It's not scheduled for release until the 20th of this month. I've been trying to put a reserve on one, but none of the shops really know that much info about it.

I'll be getting one of these as well.

I got it from crutchfield. When I first bought placed the order it was going to be available march 4th. After that, the availablility was march 8th. Now I think it's march 30th. I think they only have so many units and as people buy it the availability becomes later and later, but they said that they already shipped mine out and it should be here today.

Very nice!! Please, please, please, post pics when you get it installed. The one thing I am wondering about, is if it will actually fit in the opening. I'm not too worried about it, because I will make it fit. :D

Also, do you have the A or the B?

xB, they told me that the opening is a little wide and that I would need to custom fit it and fill in the gaps on the sides. I'll post pics once I figure out how I'm gonna do it and get in flush.

Okay, correction... I just checked my invoice and it does say it's backordered, but they are sending me the SIRIUS Tuner and Antenna, along with the extra stuff. So, who know's when I'll be getting that unit.

Jester, my ride is getting hooked up with a 2-din today as well. I considered that system too and really liked it. I played with one at a shop in LA last week. I am going with a 7" custom build-in in the 2-din, but I'm very interested to see how you like your system. If any one is trying to find one of these, a shop called Find It All Car Stereo on Vermont and 5th in Los Angeles had them for around $1,350. I have no idea if they do good work on stereo install though. They did my Clifford alarm install and did an ok (but not great) job. I had to have it readjusted, but works fine now. They also put the red LED for it smack dab in the middle of my dash above the 2-din hole. Not a great look, but it is being relocated today with the install (at a different place). Anyway, it is not a bad place to pick it up a what seems to be a good price. I would just get it put in someplace else.

Did they have those with a free SIRIUS Tuner? I'm thinking I might have just got a better deal from crutchfield since I got a free SIRIUS Tuner, Free Shipping, No TAX, for 1449 and that's with the 50 dollar satellite antenna.

i noticed that a few of you mentioned getting some things from crutchfield. They have the most information and explanations of any website, but thier prices arent that good. I have used www.etronics.com in teh past and have always gotten what i ordered with no wierd fees or anything and thier prices are super low.

What did you end up doing about the openings on the side. I just installed a Clarion MAX-675VD in the dash and noticed the 1/2" openings on both sides. Scosche makes an adapter that I just ordered and I hope it fills in the gap.

Any insight would be great!

Thanks,
-Kevin
