i have a greddy turbo timer in my box... and the thing used to work great.... but my car was gone for a while and ever since i got it back.. the thing reads a stupid error message that kinda looks like a face... suttin like that.. . .

What happens if you try pressing the Power, Select, and Time buttons at the same time to get to the menus?
You should be able to navigate through to the setup and reconfigure it from there. Hopefully that will get you going.
