Ground Wires. Updated. LOTS of PICs
Hey guys. Anybody installed this ground wires http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...spagenameZWDVW on yours XB. Because I know how and where connect maximum 4 wires. And don't have any imagination about other 3 or 4 of them. Need professional and practical advise
And the thing is- I bought this product hoping that it has full installation guide. I was wrong
Thanx

yes, i installed a similar product. check this for help. i had some unused wires that i used for other projects.
no real mileage gains were seen by me, but i am sure it is helping something... i have a few pretty big amps in my car, and you can't really have too many grounds!
also, if one of the spare wires is long enough, you can run it from the possitive battery terminal to the positive terminal on your altenator, just be sure to remember this wire is live and hot! i covered all my "ground wires" in wire loom, but kept the positive cable (from pos batt to pos alt) red, so i and anyone that may work on my car would know it was a hot wire at a glance---The other wires you are going to install are all grounds.
connecting the pos batt to pos alt is 1 part of the "Big 3" upgrade, which is also very cheap and very effective in helping current flow. electricity takes the path of least resistance, so you want as little resistance as possible when it comes to your box's electrical system.

do a search for "big 3 upgrade" and see what you learn.

i'm no electrical engineer, but it just seems to me that if your elecrical system is grounding better, it's working "easier" for lack of a better term.. there is less restriction.. i'm sure michael reyes' tech article explains in detail why this is a good mod... i just took his word for it. but everyone i talk to says its a good idea to do a ground kit like this. you can do your own for like $12....

i just used some wire i already had around and got some copper crimp ends at walmart.
the blue tape has been replaced with black heat shrink. so don't yell at me.
the other thing i did to make shure i had a install that would problem free for time to come was i put a good dab of silicone grease in befor i pushed the wire in to be crimped.
i have always known that a good ground is very importinat to everything on the car.
i ran mine to the 2 stock locations and 1 to the throtle body.
i still have enough wire to run 2 more long ones but i just havent desided were to yet

i took one look at the stock groung of the xB and knew i had to do something about it.
2 wires what like 8 or 10 gage, 1 a small part of the frame the other to the trans.
wow.... thats not enough.
anything would be en improvment!!

So basically, my xB brothers, there are only 4 locations: left and right sides of the body, head and coil pack (and, as IH8ONYU suggested install one HOT wire from positive to alternator). And more I look at my wires I start realize, that there are not long enough to connect negative to left side or even head. It probably takes more then two or even three wires to do that. So here u go, my seven pieces ground wires actually for four destinations ONLY. Anyways, all the magic will happened this Saturday. Thanx for all the replies.
