So i got my hands on some HID's, i think they used to be in a altima... Dunno. Well i was wondering if i can put those in my tC? Like will i need some type of conversion kit or something?

are you talking bulbs or a full HID setup?

 

the full setup, i got the ballasts the wiring and all that good stuff

 

should be pop in... from what ive heard..though if you look at the tabs on both your stock bulb, and the hid bulb, they should be very closly matched

 

i dunno my boy got it at his house he's gonna charge me like 75 bucks for it, so i wanna know if i can do anything with it.

 

All i can say is just try hooking it up. If you have everything and the bulbs fit, then it should be fine.

 

everything will work as long as u have the ballast's they are the bread and butter of the setup....also the only other thing u will have to do is make sure the bulb size is rright 9006...if it is, u are all set...just watch out for cops

 

but when those hids were int hat other car didint they go in a projector? so wouldnt modification have to be done to the part where the bulb eneters the headlight?

 

or just buy some new rebased bulbs

 

damn. . . be careful posting that info. . . maxima and altima HID's are very common stolen parts. . . you really have to wonder where those came from (not that it necessarily is).

Yeah mine are from a Maxima but I had to use 9006 bulbs for my dual projectors. So my HID setup is kinda Frankensteined but it works

 

Has anybody bought the HID's off ebay? They are around $300ish. Also, where can you buy the projector housings becides the junk yard?

 

i bought hid's off ebay. mcculluch 8000k. good stuff. but i recommend you to get 6000k, you see more with the 6000k. 8000k is more for show

 

im gettin the 6000k for my car next month, sooo sexy

 

oem setups from cars that come with them are the best way to go in my opinion. i just got done installing tl type s ballasts and bulbs in my tc. the set up is looks very stock not blue and purple like those aftermarket kits. do some research and you will find out how cheap these ebay kits are. an ebay kit was the first hid i ever bought for my civic and it was horrible compared to my setup now. i'd recommend an oem setup and i had to send my bulbs off to get them rebased, and bought some 9006 connectors and soldered them to the ballast, bought a harness and it fires up just fine.
