Not much help I can give you, the best link I found was here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32036
And that link states: "... if you dont know hot to remove or cant figure out how to remove the interior pieces and headliner DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS you will not make it threw it all." So I'm guess it's fairly easy to figure it out. I know you have to take out the a, b, and c pilars to remove the headliner. Just look around at anything that may have it tacked down against the roof and remove it and label it. Take pictures and post a write-up of how to remove the headliner. I know it hasn't been done yet so it may be a good thing to create.

Unbolt the seatbelts, the back seat, the grab handles, the visors, the dome light, the 4 cargo cover attachment points in the trunk, and the rearview mirror. You'll need a philips head screwdriver, an allen wrench, and some metric sockets.
Pull out the weatherstripping on the doors and around the hatch.
Start pulling panels off. The black lower ones come off first, then the light grey ones.
Remove the 2 gray plastic clips toward the back. Gently pull the headliner downward and out of the car.

Here's a question that just came to me. Would the power wire going to the dome light be a sufficent power sorce for the flipdown?? Curious since the flipdown is going to be replacing the area where the dome light is.
