Default help with door panel removal

Heya,

Installing my eDead in all my doors, the rears and passenger side went fine on my xB, but when I went to remove the drivers side door, the window and lock controls have a different wiring harness that I could not for the life of me get to come apart...go figure

anyone got some direction and maybe a picture! :D

it could just be that Im doing this at 11:30 pm by the crappy dome light and lights from the street..

anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

The front connectors are the same design, just very hard to get apart.....Try it again in the daylight,,and try to get some slight leverage with a flat bladed screwdriver.....

Good Luck!

You might find it easier to pop out the panel that holds the switches, it gives you a little more wiggle room than fighting the entire door panel....

yeah, I popped out the panel, just dont know where to pry to remove the harness....incidently, crutchfield instructions say to pop out the panel before removing the door panel, but I found it easier to remover the door panel and then remove the switch panel

:D

Default door panel

i found it easier to pop out the window switch first cuz you dont have to srtuggle with the door panel you can see the button that will cause the switch to come apart.

when seen just press hard and pull, just wiggle it so you wont damage anything.

It's a lot easier to remove the wires from the switches if you unscrew the connections from the switch panel. There are three screws holding it on.

The switch assembly will pop out-its held by a spring clip.

It then will barely squeeeeze through the opening if you carefully widen the opening slightly with your hands as you push the panel through.

The actual connector will separate, but the release is on the wrong side, too close to the panel, and hard to see, let alone get to and pry.
