Default HELP! Problem after Blue LED Gauage Conversion.

I need help boys! I just finished the blue LED conversion and the Blue LED Gauge looks awesome! However, my speedometer does not move when I accelerate and the check engine light is now on. All other gauges work and the speedometer even goes all the way up just like the other guages when you start the engine, but when I accelerate the speedometer doesn't move at all. Also when the engine is on and idle it seems as if the engine is not running full power. Like there is a loss in power.

Engifineer, Panasonic, Sciondad, anyone who knows what could be the problem. Please help and advise!

I think you might not have set the speed needle at the right spot.
Like i remeber someone stating that it has to be at zero point, like there is a place where it stops, and you need to make sure its at that point when you take it off and place it back on.

Interesting problem. You didn't use a logic probe at all did you? Or anything that could send a circuit? Check your board to make sure you didn't drip any solder between traces, because it almost sounds like the VSS has become screwed up somehow.

I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM!!! THIS IS HOW TO FIX:

You'll notice that if you move the need backwards there is a stopping point so that it won't go any further. Well for the speedo to work, it has to stop directly on ZERO. So the best way to fix it is to keep taking it on and off until it stop DIRECTLY ON ZERO!!

Good looking out, but it still isn't working. The speedometer goes up slowly when I accelarate and goes down slowly when I brake, but its far from accurate...Back to the drawing board. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Heres what worked for me...
without putting the clear plastic housing on, and taking the speedo needle off plug the gauges into the car and turn the car fully on, then put the needle back on at zero. then turn the car off ..and then on again to make sure it goes back to zero...then drive to make sure it works right.
that should fix it...or atleast it did for me...

For the speedometer, the RPM meter and the temp... dont push the needles too much in... just slightly.... then turn them counter-clockwise at least 1 complete turn and stop the turn at zero.... that will fix it for those..

for the gas is the same (dont push it too hard down) but the turn will have to be clockwise...

VIRO

that will do it... i'm sure

Well my electronic conversions are gauranteed and based on my electronics engineering experience. Not to mention that I do nothing to my car that does not look, operate, or sound like it was done by someone that knows what they are doing or that took the entire cars design into account beforehand. . So keep your ignorant comments to yourself. What a you are for even opening your mouth.

Checking the amount you pushed in the needle is a good idea as well. But as far as removing the cluster causing the issue... that should not happen. With me doing LED conversions for other people, I have driven around with mine removed to make sure it will not cause any issues, which it doesnt. I refuse to do anything on another persons car that I have not done to mine first.

I have been doing them for those in my area or those willing to be without them long enough to ship here and back if that is an option for you. If not I understand as well. If you decide to DIY feel free to hit me or others here up for advice on it.
