Default HELP!!Wanna add audio components to OEM CD deck

I have an '05 xB with the base model single-CD Head Unit that I want to connect an Eclipse amplifier (model #3242),(2) Eclipse 1" tweeters,(2) JL Audio 6" mid-ranges and a 12" Alpine sub-woofer to..........What I don't have is car audio experience.I've done wiring in my house and I'm very mechanical so I figure I can tackle it ......Will someone PLEASE walk me step-by-step thru an install or at least lay it out for me? I have all this stuff beggin to go!!

This isn't what you want to hear, but you really should probably throw down for a proper head unit, your music will sound much better.

First you will need to purchase a Line Output Converter which you will connect to the factory Pioneer CD Player so you can run an amplifier off of it. It will turn speaker leads into RCA Jacks. I don't own an XB so I can't tell you how to install the speakers or where to put ur amp but you will need that Line Out Converter before you start anything. Otherwise buy a new CD Player.

Better off using a aftermarket cd player you will get alot better sound out of that amp and components.

if you were to purchase an aftermarket headunit, would that void any warranties?

Well, they won't replace it if it fails, cuz the part they cover by warranty is sitting on your shelf or something

Just get a replacement kit from Metra or the like that uses plug in adaptors so you don't have to touch the factory wiring...

Scionic Man is right. I installed my head unit in about 5 minutes with my metra harnesses, it was all plug and play except for the amp shutoff wire.

As for warantees, like the scionic man said: they won't cover it if you blow out your speakers, but if your wheel falls off or something you'll be fine.
