Default HID Fuse question....PLZ Help

I'm trying to install some BMW 5series HID projectors. I heard of somone using a 15amp fuse for their lows with these bulbs on their BMW. My xB, with stock fuses has the 10 amp fuse.

My question is, is it necassary to get a 15 amp fuse for the low beams while running HID's? What could be some possible problems, or consequences of not upgrading the fuse?
Also, the 15 amp fuse sold at an auto store is a hell of alot different in size and look then the fuses cureently in the xB. Does this mean I have to order15 amp fuses from toyota? Im kinda confused with this....if you cant tell. Any help is appreciated.

If the HID kit requires a 15 amp fuse then use it. If not the main problem you will have will be fuses blowing.

Well, I hear of most people using the 10 amp fuse. But the guy who sold me the lights said hes using a 15 amp fuse on his 94' bmw. He didnt give me an instruction manual, and the ballasts are written in German, but I only speak english lol. I just want to plug them in to see what they look like, but I dont know if that will result in an instant blown fuse ya know.

Personally i would add a relay if i where running hids... the factory wires don't seem like they can handle the current needed for hids to work for prolonged periods of time... you run the risk of burning the factory harness up... if it is factory on the bimmer with a 15, i would suggest using a 15...

Can I get a relay at most parts stores such as Pep Boys? etc.

Or would it be better to get somthing through the dealer? I have the feeling that I may need to get the fuses from the dealer, because these fuses are quite unique.

you could get a normal fuse, fuse holder, a relay and a relay harness (not required but makes life a lot easier) all from from radio shack, pep boys, etc...

wire and fuse the connection that goes to the battery, use the headlight wire as a switched to activate the relay... if you need anymore help pm me

Are the bi-xenon or just single? Plays a big role in the relay harness...

These are just Plug and play to answer the above poster. The stock lighting plug goes into the ballast without any modification necassary. Then the ballasts have wires that go into a black box, 1/4th the size of the ballast. Then there is another strand of wires that plug into the bulbs that came with it, and plug obviously into the "Helix" projector housing.

As far as bi-xenon or single. I dont know the difference. If you could dumb it down for me, I will try and answer it lol.
