So i'm thinking about doing a HID retrofit into a stock housing. I've done some research on scionlife as well as other websites (hidplanet and hidretro) but I'm still a bit confused on the details. I'm planning on taking stock housing and painting the side black...then using the projectors and hid system out of a tsx or something along those lines inside of the housing. To my understanding painting the inside black will eliminate the weird pattern you get with plug and play kits, but I also read that you need a block off plate for the back to make it flat (is this true?). Other than that am I missing anything for the physical build of the system? And how goes the wiring of another car's hid system into the xB. Any help would be appreciated.

 

You have is pretty much summed up. As for the wiring make sure you get a relay harness. And go with the oem equiptment not a kit.

Im in the brainstorming process right now too!! I was thinking about some BMW projectors or S2000. BMW are much cheaper.
