Default High-Level converter question

Im gonna be installing my headunit today. When i had my system connected to the stock radio I used a high-level converter for the RCAs. The headunit I have now has sub RCA outs, so I wont be needing the converter, but it will still be spliced into my rear leads. Retarded circuit city cut the brown ground wire pretty short, and I heard that if you dont have RCAs connected to the converter, that it needs to be grounded? Is this true?

Thanks.

best thing to do would be to remove the converter completely and butt-connect or solder the speaker leads back together.....

This is precisely the reason I don't allow best buy or circut city to touch my car.......

yeah, the second installer i had look at it, asked me three times who installed me previous unit, because apparently the guy broke 2 or three rules or guidelines for roadshop installs. Never going back, ah well I guess thats another 30 minutes out the window today.

Thanks.

I don't have much experience with bottom of the line converters cause they sound like crap..... I would say that you would be ok to not ground it at all.....why don't you want to remove it though????

I highly doubt you could screw it up more than circut city, I'd highly highly highly recommend removing the converter.....take your time and use some logic and you'll be fine.....
