Default How to drill out rivets?

i'm gonna install new speakers and need to know how to drill out rivets. Can anyone explain to me? thanks

buy 1/8" drill bit.

insert bit into drill.

position bit in center of rivet.

pull trigger.




that's a toughy...

Actually, it is tougher than you think. When I drilled mine out, half of them just spun. I ended up using a Dremel with a 1.5" diameter cut-off wheel and ground them away. I wish I would have done that to start, I ruined a nice drill bit.

one way to remove a rivit is get a small punch punch the center of the rivit out its steel, then get a drill bit larger then the hole of the rivit center and drill it out if the head starts to spin just angle the drill bit so it drills at a angle they make a tool for removing rivits but the kit runs about 40.00

use a 1/4 bit, wooble the drill from side to side, the head will snap off first and ride up the bit, just keep wobbling the bit and the rest of rivet will fall out the back.
