hey wassup, i have never installed the gauge on a tc, but i have installed them on a couple of hondas. i had to use the white wire. the colors are the same as my hondas, so the white one should be the right color to splice it in!!!

Just to let you know that AF gauge is absolutely useless. It is too slow reacting to show whats really going on and it does not show exact numbers also. If you trying to install one for a purpose of monitoring your AFR and not just looks, you would need a wideband setup.

True, the resolution on the O2 sensors is not very high.. meaning you wont get very accurate readings... the ECU uses that data as more of a trim. The wideband setup will give you much more precise data.... but for simple in range/out of range monitoring, and for looks, the AF gauge will do ok. If you are looking into serious tuning and FI.... go for the wideband for sure!

Aren't those "master techs" great?? My dad loves em... he gets their business daily If they actually knew how to troubleshoot a problem instead of just taking readings from a scan tool.. they could tell you since they have a shop manual right there! I dont have the manual... and am too lazy to grab the multimeter and go take some measurements for ya to see which wire is the output.... sorry I'm not of much help right now!!

I tapped into the O2 sensor wires at the ECU ... all wiring stays inside the firewall that way.

Power I tapped from the radio harness.

IMO the standard cheapie air-fuel meter does give some valuable qualitative information. It can tell you when you're running in open-loop mode or closed-loop mode, and gives you a general impression of how your ECU and O2 sensor are operating. All for $35 and a few feet of wire.

I realize that's an unpopular opinion on this board, but I seem to spew forth a lot of unpopular opinions on this board.

Help me help this guy ... The tC wiring diagram shows "air/fuel ratio sensor" where one would expect the upstream O2 sensor and the expected voltage at idle is 3.3V (rather than 0 - 1 V). Anyone know the specifics of this sensor?
