does anybody know how to remove the stock front speakers?
i took off my door panel today so i can put some dynamat around them for now until i upgrade my speakers but i just got lost on how to remove my stock speakers without damaging it.

how hard is it to take the door panel off?

 

the door panel is very easy, itll only take like 10 minutes or so.....theres only 3 screws and then rest are just clips

 

The workshop manual says you have to drill out the pop-rivets to remove the factory door speakers.

 

Drill out the rivets, Just use a bit a little smaller than the hole on the rivet and it will come out.

 

the door panel should take like 3 minutes literally to remove. its 3 screws then u pull out the panel starting from down where the speaker grill, and work your way around and it will pop right off. Then just disconnect the connector attached the the switch panel. Finally drill out the rivets on the speaker

 

yeah i got lost when i sqw the funky lookin screwshape...i gave up in an instant. lol
guess ill just leave it up to professionals

Why can't you use the spacer ring form the stock speaker?

 

the oem ring is the speaker. It's one piece of plastic.

but if u were really on a tight budget u could whip out a jigsaw and cut out the speaker lol..

 

clearance fron the window is a bit of a prob.

 

i was looking at my stock speaker and i was gonna do wut ChefRaekwon said but i got too scared of messing up so i ended up not doing it
