HOW TO: Wire fog lights independant of the headlights for xA
First off, MAD props to oneslowxa for all his help with this!
Even though a lot of testing took place to figure this out the actual procedure is very simple and should take less than 10 minutes.
-Remove fuse cover on dash.
-Pop out the factory fog light switch from the dash.
-Disconnect the plug to the fog switch.
-Cut the RED wire about an inch from the plug.
-Connect a wire about 10 inches long to the RED wire going into the plug. Tape off the red lead.
-Ground the wire to the chassis (there is a 10mm bolt to the right of the fuse access opening behind the dash).
Reassemble.
DONE.
Now the fogs will come on with the switch only. Keep in mind that the fogs will stay on even with the key removed. There is a yellow wire on the plug that could be moved to an ingintion controlled citcuit.

Does someone know how to wire it to the ignition circuit? I would love to have mine on when the car starts and off when I turn it off. Something I would also like is having the fog lights on with both the parking lights and the headlights. Can anyone give tips on either of those? I would rather know about fogs with parking than on and off with ignition. Thanks!

I figured it would be.....but you never know! I am about to get complicated....
Is there anyway to keep the switch that the factory hooks them to involved to you can still turn them off when the praking and hedlights are on? That may be a dumb question, but just humor me! My desire is to haave them on with parking lights and the headlights......unless they need to be off for some reason. If I keep them connected to that switch......the will come on with the parking and headlights but I still maintain the control to turn them off at anytime without turning the other exterior lights off. Get my drift?
