Installed Scion VSE Subwoofer

And there is no way you can guarantee me that it would cost more then 300 for an aftermarket system because i have done many installs that cost under 300 and sounded really good while still going loud. you just have to move beyond the main companies like mtx and infinity. there is a lot of really high quality stuff out there for pretty cheap. and from a sound quality/spl factor the stock speakers do suck. and if you want to get rid of the rattles that comes with lots of bass you can just put sound deadnening material behind the doors and hatch, etc. that way you can have no rattles and a quieter ride. don't just diss things if you don't have any idea what you are talking about. that goes both ways. i don't like the bazooka because i have heard it and thought it was lacking. sorry for the rant there are just a lot of unbased opinions in here

about the pre-outs, sure that would be nice but i don't hear any noise/hiss/hum/buzzing from the sub when nothing is playing so any gain in S/N wouldn't make much difference.
even with the system cranked and listening outside the car with the windows down, there isn't any rattles (yet, knock on wood) from the car so sound deadening in a toyoya that has the most stock deadeding short of a lexus may be overkill until problems present themselves.
did you play with the gain on the sub? the stock setting is a little low. i have it just above that and the balance is nice with the deck on bass -3, srt, xa. i tried turning the deck to bass -4 and turning the gain up more but could not find a good balance.
Ok well I went out on a limb and just bought one of those 8" audiovox tube subs from ebay. For $50 shipped ill give it a try. I should have it sometime early next week. Once hooked up ill let everyone know if its a must or a bust. I had so much $ into my last system i told myself ill never do it again. It was all custom in my 01 dodge ram so nothing but bare subs and amps would transfer. Not much I can do with 4 kicker solobaric's and 4 alpine amps in my xb, little overkill.
