Installing Kenwwood DDX7015, i have a question !

Default Installing Kenwwood DDX7015, i have a question !

please excuse this crappy paint drawing but i just wanted to give an idea of what i was talking about...the question is, there is two harness's for the ddx..the main one obviously (lg) and the one with power/ground/prking brake (sm)...my question is do i connenct the power/ground and the prking brake to ground from both harness's then put into the toyota harness ?? just wondering cause i never installed dvd so the prking brake thing is new to me...thanks guys

Um, I've yet to do this install (just have the unit sitting in a box waiting for a tC). But from what I understand, if you do ground it to the parking brake, you're not going to be able to operate some of the features (dvd) unless you're in Park.

I'm sure you'll have more DDXers posting here to help soon...

When I installed mine, from the big connector, I connected the black ground to Toyota harness. From the smaller connector, I connected the black ground to Toyota harness also, but I ran the green parking brake wire to a toggle switch that I can put into "non parking mode" if I need to.

the green wire(parking brake wire) is so you have to have your parking brake on inored to watch video on the screen. it "should" be connected to the parking brake wire that goes to ground when you pull up on it. what most people do is ground that green wire so you can watch video while driving. Most states it's illegal to be able to see a video while driving, so with that said, do what you like.
