Default Installing Kicker SS Components into XB.

I got the kicker ss components for my xb. I already had 6.5 inch infinity kappa perfect components installed before, so I figured it would be just a quick swap out. I am currently using the scoshe sat6 speaker adapters for the infinity which worked fine, the problem is the kicker ss midranges dont fit in the opening and if i trim it down anymore there will be nothing to mount the speaker to. So what I did was create a bracket using two pieces of 3/4 mdf stacked on top of each other. The problem im having is the door panel is hitting the wood i think, and also the speaker is really close to the door panel grill and I think when it is playing music it may constantly hit the door panel.. Does anyone have any ideas.

instead of using (2) 3/4" pieces of mdf why not use (2) 1/2" pieces.

In the xB, on the inside of the doorpanel, there is a trim ring around the perimeter of the speaker grille. You may need to cut this off in order to get it to fit. I had to when I made my angled brackets.

Try:

eDi 6000/6500s (2.8" depth) needs 2 x 3/4" spacers. Adjust +/- to your actual speaker depth.
Good luck!
