Default HID WIRING ISSUE

Need a little wisdom put on me. Got a hi/low Extreme HID kit from a good dealer. I've learned that the scions stock power socket is 12v on all three prongs and the light switch gives ground to complete the circuit.

So what it does to the HID kit.

When you plug up the battery the lights come on, when you turn on the key and lights, the lights stay on, When you give it high beam, it switches to high beam. So as you can tell I can't turn off the car and walk away without the lights staying on.

I think this method is called Positive switching and the directions don't help me with where I can fix the problem. This kit has the harness that takes power and ground from the battery, It also has a switching controller that should correct for any type of plug your car has...as you can tell it doesn't. Has anyone ran into this problem and how did you fix it.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

integroid.... it supose to be a plug and play...but..... you know if it's too good to be true it probably is.

Oznium thanks for helping me out, looks like you might have some good advice.

Right now for the life of me I can't figure out how to give this kit what is wants (no voltage with the switch off, the factory condition of the xb is all three headlight prongs are 12v with car off and switch off) Here are the pics

This is the high low H4 bulb

The top of the 3 prong of the H4 connector is the Ground, the left side is low Beam the right Is high beam. I Hope that helps.

Hey Baged...
Take a volt meter out to your box. Don't cut on the switch or headlight switch, unplug your headlight socket, Check voltage, all three pins are 12v. Now cut on your low beams, Top is still 12v and one of the bottoms goes to ground through the switch, switch to high beam and the top stays hot and the other pole goes ground through the switch. If I've investigated correctly the car is negative switching. You have described the situation that most kits require... like honda's etc. So I still have no fix. Just to make sure mine is a 2005 xb (they might have changed wiring in 2004 or 2006).
