Can people give me the pros and cons of inverting there subs?

 

NONE OF EITHER
there is no difference as to which way it faces
it works the same, sounds the same

guess it might matter how pretty your basket/magnet is?

 

TX pretty much nailed it. In most applications I would say it's purely cosmetic. You might (and it's a pretty slim MIGHT) gain like .1 db in a ported application. Mark

 

If your running alot of power the motor might run cooler being on the outside of the box, therefore more efficient.

 

^^ true.. heat is a main concern.. like if you have 4 huge subs pushing like 1000watts each you know... then inverting will make a difference in the heat dissipation.

my Earthquake 10" has a HUGE magnet and that's why mine is inverted...more intimidating that way heh heh

 

What a dolt I am! If you are mounting inverted you way want to experiment with the phasing of the driver since it will be out of phase with the rest of the system. On the older (maybe newer too?) Eclipse decks I know you could alter the phasing of the sub right from the deck. Mark

 

it is even easier with it inverted
the wires are right there....just switch them!!

 

I'd just switch them at the amp because invariably you'll get someone that says "Your sub's hooked up backwards". Mark

most decent HU's today have normal and inverted phase control
