Ipod to stock H/U
I tried the USA Spec interface and it didn't work very well for me. What are you guy's using and how well is it working for you? I looked at the Neo,Pac and the Peripheral one's I'm tring to decide which one I should try next.
My brother just purchase the Griffin iTrip. What it does is that it transmits a FM radio frequency (selectable) and all you do if put your radio to the same frequency. It will run u about 40 bucks. Its a pretty neat device.
its pretty good! u just need to find a station where is completely blank and it will sound good. The good thing about this is no wires/installs. and u can use it with any radio and where. Just think of the possibilities! :D
the itrip is not bad. but it's not high quality. It sounds fine aslong as there is 0 interferance. At best it's FM quality at worst it's bad FM. But for 40 bucks it get the job done and works with ANY FM radio.
i also have the griifin, it works well but sometimes you get static. Monster just came out with the iCruze that is suppose to work with all factory headunits.

I tried the iTrip out and I did not like it at all. I do not consider myself an audiophile but the quality was far to poor for my taste. I would equate the iTrip to listening to a moderately good FM signaled station.
I disliked the FM Transmitter option so much that I purchased an Alpine CDA-9833 with an adapter to hook up my iPod through female RCA jacks. It sounds wonderful. My only complaint is that I hear a lot of white noise at louder volumes when I am swithing songs or if the song gets really quite for a few seconds (if anyone has any suggestions to get rid of this, it would be apprecaited). But that doesn't happen often.
But if you want to keep your factory deck, iPod Lounge just reviewed a new product that is supposed to work with Scions and it gave a good review. Check it out.

Also Scion is suppsoed to be releasing something that will work the iPod and the stock h/u. I assume it will have the same limitations the one that BMW and Alpine made. With those you can only have 5 or 6 playlists to go off of. You can scroll through all songs but t would take a long ___ time with the Scions contols. That is why I like my option... I can control my iPod with my Ipod. No limitations, but nothing displays on the screen of the h/u.
If you want good quality, get a new head unit and connec the iPOD to it with RCA cables. FM transmitters aren't worth it at all.
I certainly don't miss the stock head unit on my tC that's for sure.

I read the reviews on Ipod lounge there is alot of usefull information their. I also talked to Pioneer and they told me that there new interface will not work with the Scion radio's. The Ice link looks nice but they don't make one for Toyota or Scion yet, plus its; a little pricey. www.densionusa.com
