JDM foglight switch install
I posted this earlier in the summer in another thread after I installed my lights.
My switch had 4 pins. Holding it one way there was 1 pin at the top and 3 pins across the bottom.
The 2 pins I used are on the bottom. The one to the far left, and the one in the middle. There was a small space between the 2 pins, where it looks like a pin should be.
The way I determined which 2 pins to use was to attached 2 wires to the terminals on a 9volt battery. I plugged the wires onto the pins and checked for power through the pins with a test light. It took about 5 minutes to figure it out. Be carefull, as 2 of the pins on my switch were constant and not controlled by the switch.
I think the 2 pins that are constant are the single pin and the one directly below it. It's been a few months since the installation, so I could be wrong on this one.
Hope this helps.

I too will be installing JDM fog lights in the future.
Thanks.
Any pictures of the 2 different switches? U can use a multimeter, set it to resistance to check the contacts. The JDM switches we have for ist have 4 pins as well. 2 for the lights and 2 for the relay. Bascially u need a supply from the tail lamp.
Pin Config
1-Tail Lamp Supply
2-Relay output(coil)
3-Tail lamp Supply to Switch LED
4-Ground
Pin 1 & 2 works as a pair. The purpose of tapping the power from the tail lamp is to ensure the lights will not be left ON by itself. The alram will sound if u forget to turn of the tail lamp when enigne is off.
The pin numbers are just for reference.U will have to figure out which is which with a multimeter.Hope this helps!

They are about $4 and fits and look like really good. Easy to install. It is just a plain black switch. I used this for my JDM fogs. There is another posting somewhere here, but can't find it. Just go to lowes Home Improvement and look in the electrical section.

I found the post about the rocker switch that will fit into your scion and can be used for the JDM foglights. I used this switch and it work perfectly. Go to:

Well we all knew we could just order USDM foglight switches at the dealer's parts counter, but that defeats the purpose of beating your head on the wall while you figure out the JDM wiring pattern. ~~ and now we have JDM switches - lol - as if anyone but us would tell the difference (although the JDM switch lights up - USDM doesn't)

Toyota Part# 84160-38010
I learned that alot of dealers are failing to sell this part so that they can sell you the whole fog light kit.
I'll be installing my JDM fogs this weekend and it should be a "Plug n Play" installation now that I have the USDM switch.
