If you have installed in the past, it is pretty straight foward. I would definitely recommend the wiring harness to plug into the car... a must these days...has all the colored wired to hook the new stereo up with. Other than that just be careful when you pull the dash pieces off. There is a section in the owners manual i think that shows how to remove them. Good Luck!

I have the same system!! I added an XM antenna also. Not hard to install the nav unit and xm antenna will easily fit under the dash top. You will want to take the entire top off the dash to do the install. It is easy to do... look for how toos there certainly are some.
BTW the unit doesnt sit flush with the original radio location...it sits abit less than .5 inch out from where it looks best. I redrilled my factory brackets (used for the install either way) to move the radio back into the dash opening till it was almost flush. Looks better and no interference with the dash when the screen moves. You may have to modify your install kit (I did but it was really simple) to allow this as well.

Hmmm not sure what you mean. If you mean can you watch a nav screen and watch a dvd on the same sceen while driving ...no...it has no PiP capability. If you mean can you watch navigation maps one one screen and watch a dvd on another while driving, YES if you have 2 screens. If you mean is the dvd and navigation route planning disabled on the HU screen when you are driving ...yes IF!!! you wire as per the instructions. If you wire the park brake wire to ground instead of the park brake switch then all HU functions are enabled all the time.

so the kenwood does not do a split screen were on one side of the screen you have navigation and the other side you have your movie? I was looking for a double din that does the split screen. The only unit I know that does that is the Eclipse AVN6600.

It has dual zone but no split screen. It can send different sources to its screen and an external screen.
