Default kicker system

im about to get a system for my box. this is wat im thinkin bout gettin:

1 400.1 ZX series amp
1 200.4 ZX series amp
2 12" Comp subs
KS 6.2 component speakers, some coaxes, tweeters

or

1 550.3 ZX Series amp
2 12" Comp subs
KS 6.2 component speakers some coaxes, and tweeters

Which one should i get? and is around $1100 a good price for either of these setups(price excluding labor)?

stay way the hell away from the 3 chanel amp. Im speaking from experience. I have seen sooooo many of those multi chanel amps go bad from kicker. You are better off running dedicated amps for speakers/ subs that way if one ever goes you can simply replace it (probably for less as well as opossed to having to essentially change both).

I'd personally stay away from kicker all together unless you're going to spend an arm and leg for the high end products...

There are MUCH more cost efficient ways to go about the setup you listed...

Take a look at elemental designs...

(2) NINe.2x $225 $450
(2) 13Kv.2 $75 $150
(1) eDi6500s $250 $250
----
Total $850

A bridged NINe.2x would give you (a very conservative) 600 watts to push the two 13Kv.2 subs, and 100 watts per channel for the 6500s. Or you could go for the eDi 6000v2 components for under $100 for the set (but they won't be shipping until January).

If you're interested in a single amp setup, I have a Directed 650 up for sale. Right now it's on ebay, but I would cancel the auction for $175 shipped.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160068178700

It's a 5 channel amp. Rated specs below:

50x4 + 250x1 @ 4ohm
75x4 + 350x1 @ 2ohm
150x2 @ 4ohm front channels bridged.

On the ebay page there's a review of the amp done by Chris Lewis of Auto Sound & Security Magazine. He measure the output at 57x4 @ 4 ohm, 162x2 (bridged), and 380x1 @ 2ohm for the sub channel.

It's a very nice amp. I'm upgrading from an ID12 to an IDMAX12 so I need some more juice.
