Default L.E.D. Wiring

I bought 4 l.e.d.’s that I want to put under the front console. I’d like to put them all on one switch and make it as easy as possible.

Can I simply splice into existing power & ground wires, run the new wire under the dash, attaching the l.e.d’s along the way. The new wire would terminate at the switch. If so, what color wires do I tap into?

Does this sound right? Did I use the correct terminology? If this will work, what color wires do I tap into?

Thanks,

Priest

First, I presume the LED's are from a kit or at least already have the resistors installed.

Now, the best source for power is in the center console...the cig lighter. Easy to access, remove shift **** and pull up on sides to remove. Already fused.

place all led's as you want...attaching all positive leads together with wire and all grounds together. Run the positive wire from the LED's to the switch, then from the switch to the power wire on the cig lighter. The ground wires go right to the cig lighter ground.

The switch will break the positive wire, turning the LED's on and off.

You can get 2 quick tap connectors from any auto parts store to make the power connections easier.

Fuji, what fuse did you piggyback? I'm assuming it's one of the in dash fuses not one under the hood?

you can get that at autozone for 2-7 bux..

make sure to put the proper fuses in their spot. the fuse that i used was 3 amps

you can get the switch to turn on and off at autozone as well. ill try to do a setup and post pics.. but i have been on and off sick and so sorry it took me a while to reply.

meanwhile the power will be in the new accesorry spot in the pic receiving power from the fuse. the ground wire just ground it somewhere safe. the power and ground should be connect to the switch as well.
