What LEDS do you use for the Gauge Illumination LEDS??? Do you also use the PLCC-2 like for the clock or different ones?

 

I used plcc-2 for the gauge cluster & all areas on the xa. The clock / odo is actually 1206 size, but plcc-2 work perfectly!

lame Monday bump! jk, hey i just bought some blue LEDs on eBay, gunna swing it and try to DIY(my first LED swap, imma virgin). it looks pretty easy and straight forward, just tedious. i was planning on changing every light accept the engine too hot light, cuz i would never be able to tell if its too hot, or cold! any input?

So you bought lights from ebay rather than me and then want input? *LOL* Ah well happy to help. Just take your time soldering, make sure they are put in the right direct and buy from me next time. best input I can give

 

mybad! haha, next time for sure, actually, i plan on doing another swap to my GF's car. how much do u charge for just the LEDs? or do you only take mail in orders for the 38 bux

 

There is like 10 or 12 from memory for the gauge faces, needles & clock so would cost around $11.43 shipped priority mail and no worries Just messin with ya. Let me know if you have any questions. Board diagram is on my site.

 

idk if you can tell(my camera is bad) but the speedo side of the cluster is a lighter shade of blue because of the plastic over the LEDs, is there a way to change this?(and i don't think its associated but when i did the swap my check engine light came on as you can see)

Pretty much just your gauge face, not much can be done, although I had not seen it that drastic before. For the check engine light, just take the neg terminal off the battery for a few minutes and put it back on and the light will go away. Most likley the cars ignition was turned on with the cluster out of the car. No biggie.

 

yea i figured out the CEL, and ive kinda gotten used to the lights, its all good!
do you guys only have diagrams for scions?

 

Correct, I pretty much mod scions / toyotas only, as well as a lot of street bikes other oddball stuff.

 

oh, i see. i got a friend with an 01' hundai tib and he wants me to do his lights now.i guess ill just search it up a bit and wing it, its not too hard just figuring out which light is which. looks like i'm starting my own lil business here lately, im charging 50 bux a swap including lights, ive already done 5 now! haha
