Sounds more like a pin was bent when the screen was pressed back in possibly? An led out would not cause that issue as you would have a massive dark spot on the lcd.

Im interested in doing this to an 1st gen Xb is it almost the same as your first diagram? I understand 4 led's for the guage and the other ones im nor really worried about but my guage seems kind of dim so i would like to replace them.

The xb1 and xa clusters are very similar like you said. Either are quite easy so you could tackle the project if you are up for it!

 

which number of bulbs do i need to order is 1206 the only bulb number

 

I use all plcc-2 in the xa cluster.

 

Whats bulbs do i need to buy at GARAGE1217 so i buy the right ones for my gauge cluster plus how much are they a piece do you know

The gauge cluster takes all solder in LEDs. They are not plug and play bulbs unfortunately
