Default LED lightbulb question.

I am going to get LED bulbs for my taillight/brakelight bulb, do you need a resistor for these or is that just for the turn signal bulbs that you need a special flasher for. Anyone have any that can help me out before i order them so i know what to get.
thanks for the help.

If the bulbs you get are 12v bulbs, then you don't need a resistor (most likely they will be). You will need a new flasher so that your turn signals don't flash real fast.

Well I got my LED Stop/Taillight bulb today from autoillumination, I went and put them in and it blows my tail and stop fuses under my dash. I can't figure out how everyone else got these in other threads and they work and i get them and it doesn't. I put my regular bulbs in and they work fine after i replace the blown fuses.

Well they sent me this and said i may have the ground and hot wires wrong on the bulb and to switch them, I thought they were supposed to be right when i bought them, anyone know how the wires are supposed to be in the socket.

I installed the tail/brake lights with LED's from SuperbrightLED's and it is blowing my brake fuse.....sounds like a similar issue that you had. Did you get it figured out what is wrong?

Yea there are two grounds on the bulb and only one on the light socket, you have to bend the two grounds on to one side of the bulb and bend a wire sideways across the bulb and leave one straight up. It is complicated, i broke one of the bulbs in the process of figuring this out and had to take it apart and solder it back together. If you want really detailed info i can try and get it together and get some pics.

OK...thanks for the info. I think that I will just give up and return them for a refund. I must have blown about 7 fuses trying to figure it out. It's strange. I get the tail lights to work fine but can't get the brake lights. When I turn the bulb around, the tail light fuse blows. Just a big circle of blown fuses.

Yeah it is confusing, and the led bulb isn't very bright either. I compared them to the regular bulb and the regular is way brighter.
