Default LED Underbody

I couldn't find the correct forum for this so this is the next best place!

I'm going to be buying and LED Underbody kit:
http://www.ledunderbody.com/index.as...&ProdID=7&HS=1

and an LED Wheel Well kit:
http://www.ledunderbody.com/index.as...ProdID=38&HS=1

I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with their products and they thought of the quality. I used the search button, but I ended up with everything under the sun about LED Underbody lights, but nothing about the quality of certain brands.

Thanks!

I can't speak for this brand, but looking at the price and specs I'd be a little suspect.

I have a plasmaglow LED kit, and am in no way happy with it. There isn't the spot light effect like with some kits, but I can't just flip a switch and have it on, you need to actually use the stupid LCD display / wired control to turn it on.

Oznium has a Flowlighting single color kit for $130, a lot of people on this site seem to like them, especially the higher cost Inferno kit. Most of the kits I've seen use only 6-8 LED's per tube, so I find 126 LED's used in the LEDGlow to be too many for the price. I've seen the LEDGlow brand in a few aftermarket shops, though I can't say I liked the shops too much. They were also carrying Power Acoustik subs, Jensen amps, etc.. low to mid-grade stuff.

I'm not too worried about the effects that it can do. All I'm really interested in is having solid blue glow. As long as the light isn't too dim, it would work just fine.

6-8 LED's per tube sounds kind of low. Wouldn't you end up having 6-8 concentrated points of light instead of a nice even glow?

Thanks for the input!

The LED's use wide-angle lenses with diffusers so as long as the LED is a minimum distance from the ground it disperses evenly. The only issue with them is there is a sharp cut-off edges, so if you have a 48" tube, there will not be any light beyond those 48" and it will be a rectangle of light unlike neon which has a glow that fades over a longer distance. This seems to be the case regardless of LED brand.

You may want to give Oznium a look, and there are group buys on here from time to time. I got stuck with the Plasmaglow LED kit because I initially ordered the Plasmaglow neon kit from them since I like the dispersion on neon better. It came in broke, and after three returns, it still came in broke so Plasmaglow sent me the LED as a replacement. Can't say Oznium didn't warn me though, on their site it says:

word about breakage in shipping
This PlasmaGlow Platinum kit uses traditional glass neon tubes. The packaging by PlasmaGlow does not seem to be adequate for shipping. Unfortunately, about 50% of the time this kit will arrive with a broken tube.

A while back, Oznium used to stock and ship these kits. But they broke so much in shipping, it was too much of a hassle dealing with UPS insurance. So we now let PlasmaGlow handle the shipping.
Oznium does not stock the Plasmaglow LED kit, I now see why.

I use Street Illuzionz Leds. They have been tested against many competitors and have come out on top.
