Default License Plate Rattles... Solutions?

with 2 x 12"s in the back of my xB the license plate rattles when the bass hits with any volume, has anybody found a good solution to this? I was thinking of checking out Home Depot and finding some rubber grommets that I could put between the screws that hold the plate into the trunk, but then the bottom of the plate would still rattle... any ideas?

You can do what my friend did when he had that problem.
while you are at Home Depot getting grommets get some 1/2 inch pipe inulation and cut a piece about 3/4 inch wide by 5 inches long. Use double sided tape (the thick type) to mount it underneath where the License plate goes.

...or just bend the plate a little so it doesn't make contact with the door, even when you slam it shut! That's the cheapest and quickest way to get rid of the problem.

I used rubber grommets and I used duck tape stuck the plate to the frame. You can't tell I used duck tape unless you tear the license plate off and look.

I have used weatherstriping on the back of the plate before and it worked really well.

Default plate rattle

Dynamat sells a kit for $12 with shipping (Circuit City) made just for the license plate. It took me about 5 minutes with a hairdryer to install mine. It also comes with a plate frame and some foam rubber strips to put against the frame to prevent that from rattling. I used the foam strips with my existing plate frame and haven't heard a rattle in months.

Default dynamat

I put some dynamat all in the trunk door plus 4"+4" foam.
I also put 2 layers of dynamat on the back side of the license plate.
The wiper is the only thing that rattles.

Or just drive to HD/Lowes/Walmart, grab some weatherstripping for $3, and be done with it.

The Dynamat license plate kit has hardly any material. For 2 bucks more, you can get the speaker kit and cover the entire back of the plate with it plus have some extra for other stuff. ( I put it in the ashtray, no change rattles.)

And I took the wiper off, so no rattle there...

hmmm ....... guess im weird, i just used some self stick velcro .
always been using velcro, since my cavalier had a problem with the plate falling off
(4 15's rattled the screws loose)
just run a strip down each side of the plate about a 1/2 inch in from the edge, and one down the center.
less than a buck at wal-mart gets you enough to do 2 or 3 plates
