Default lighted cup holders.....made my own...

just out of curiosity, where do the factory lights aim at? i put in two led's beside eachother and aimed them at the front of the car inside the cup holder.

They're in the back of the cupholders, nearest the shifter, and aim straight forwards to the opposite side (side nearest the stereo)

pampadori, what kind of wiring was needed to hook it up? Is there some type of universal connector used to connect to a wiring harness in there?

Radio shack sells some simple hardware you can use to fade in and out between 2 or more leds, would be fun to use that for various effects in the cupholder and beyond.

i just used folding wire connectors onto the power and ground wires for my under dash LED lighting. the switch is right by the e brake handle and now turns on the under dash, and the cupholders at the same time. real simple. btw, i got my blue led's by buying those tacky washer nozzle led things. broke them apart and drilled holes in the back of the cupholders for them. i really felt ___ buying those washer nozzle leds though. thats the worst part of the install. total cost, -a little pride, and $5.99 from walmart.

if you look at the backsides of the cup holders (facing towards the rear of the car). You will see crosshairs where the factory is drilled. You will have to lift up the carpet padding to see it.

____ERS! I didn't know this. I did mine blind. I ended up with one higher than the other. I installed a switch to stay sane.

I had never seen the factory ones til after I did mine. I faced them towards the rear cuz it looked like they were out of the way of the shift linkage and stuff better that way. Still works but would've been better facing forward. Live and learn...
