Default Lights when doors are open?

What would be the easiest way to get a signal when the doors open so I can wire some lights to come on when I open my door?

I may have misunderstood the question. Are you talking about your dome light not coming on or are you wanting to hook-up some neons that come on when your door opens?

Neons, LED's, cold cathodes, etc.

My dome light is fine. I want to hook up additional lighting that comes on when the doors open.

I am sure you could just splice the wires into your dome light wires. That's what I would do unless someone else has a better idea. Just find the fuse that leads to your dome light and tap into that wire. I once did this with a strobe light and it worked fine. I just had the strobe and the dome on the same fuse and had a toggle for the strobe so I could turn it on and off as I pleased. Sorry if wasn't of any help. :?

might be easier to go off your driver side door. the button on the door jam controls the power to the dome light. just take off your lower seat belt panel and splice into it from there, then you can just run the wires under the sill plates and behind the kick panel.

if you did it that way, would it only work when the drivers door was opened?

If you're running anything bigger than LEDs would you need to use a relay and a power source (battery)?
