Default Making xB rear bins flush with hatch lip--keeping spare tire

hey

I was b-quieting my wheel wells and floor the other day (thanks to all for tips on how to remove rear seat, etc.--made it easy) and found the infamous Black Hunk of Plastic filling the Unused Depression underneath the Spare. It bugs me that the floor of the xB is above the hatch lip with the storage bin in (makes it harder to slide things in, and it looks weird) and I noticed that the spare, while not fitting completely in the Unused Depression, fits somewhat into it. By doing this, the spare sits at, or very close to, the height of the hatch lip.

My question is, has anyone done a mod sitting the spare down into the Unused Depression, to make a simpler, flatter area? I suppose most mods involve removing the tire and installing a sub, rather than worrying about this, but I like spare tires.
