Default Metra Toyota iPod adapter (like iPod2Go/Neo/Aux-Box)

Okay I searched and saw some people used a Metra adapter, but I don't believe it was the same one I'm seeing at Circuit City

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra...oductDetail.do

It seems a lot like the iPod2Go/neo/PAC aux box....

Just wondering if it requires you to have predetermined playlists, etc....and if anyone else has ever used this device. I was going to get it because it's actually $50 off this week at Circuit City online ($99)...

Thanks!

EDIT: Guess it would be nice if I made think right...

Excellent find! I was about to spend about 150 on that over on ebay!

Just bought it online and picking it up on the way home...will tell you how it is once I install it...if I can do it properly.

when you use the TYIP-01 your radio will see your Ipod more as a cd changer than an Ipod. lets say 5 playlists, when it comes up on the scion radio you will see 1-1, or all songs starting track 1. 1 is all songs reguardless of playlists. 2-1 would be the first playlist starting with track one, 3-1 would be the second and so on. it takes a while to get used to the idea.
no ipod info will be shown on the radio, the Ipod acts like a cd changer. and there is no info on the Ipod when it is plugged in, it says "Axxess" on the screen. it does charge while it's pluggen in though. personally, I would keep it on playlist 1 (all songs playlist) and turn random on.

I'm still new to the Ipod thing, but I have playlists seperated by music genre. playlist for Jazz, Rock, Old School. do alot of you just use 1 playlist and throw all your songs in it? I thought the playlist would make it easier to find songs.

I have a few playlists, but I don't always use them...I have them for like the Gym or for a few groups (songs I like)...but that's it.

For the most part I just scroll to whatever I want to hear...

Don't know too much about the ipod2car, but what I've read from other websites, it seems like a great product and something that I'll be getting in the very near future.

...just gotta get a new ipod first...

Anyway, it's actually on sale right now at theistore.com. From $229 to $189. Here's the link.
