Yes and no you will need a voltage meter to see what voltage they are supplied with.
If it is 12 volt you will need a 470 ohm resistor with regular LED's like you would get at Radio Shack or other places. if you get the prewired ones like Auto Zone sells then 12 volt is fine.
If it is around 3+ volts then you can wire direct into the line without a resistor.
I myself am waiting on a package of 100 super brite green LED's for my under car project,Hope my eyes are up to all that soldering.

Hope this makes sence,Scott

ok no offense kzhorse, but that was a bad explanation
jk. that was a good explan., just too detailed for the average person

heres what i did. i did the exact same thing you are going to do. i tapped the factory wires. go to advanced auto parts or whatever store you have, and get what are called "LEDs Any where". theyre resistored and set up for car use. thats what i did. if you already have LEDs, look to see if theyre resistored to 12V. If they are, just slap them in from what I understand. if not, you may have to solder in a resistor. im pretty sure thats all u need to know

*if i am wrong here people, feel free to correct me. im just trying to give him some basic idea here
