Default More permanent gauge coloring?

I've read the thread bout coloring ur LEDs behind the guage, but its not long lasting. I thought about actually painting the LEDs with some acrylic but i dont know if they will get to hot. feedback?

leds dont normally get hot...they use a very high percentage of there power input and convert it to light, not heat as compared to a light bulb. I would try it. let me know how it turns out.

uhh.. i would rather just change out the led itself.

the paint or whatever will probably mess it up.. and reduce light output.

another solution besides using a marker or swapping the led, is to use some cellophane. that'll last much longer than a marker. and light output won't be affected as much.
