imo they sound good, the reason i like them is because they don't "crackle" like normal tweeters do at high volumes, they don't have that super "bright" sound to them (good/bad depending on your taste/system setup)... and they do offer a wider sound with less cancellation due to there usual placements underdash... there's also less of a sound void when you move your head to the center of the car, or move your feet around, which tends to change the sound quite a bit with standard placements of mids and tweets in the kicks... but that's just my personal opinion...
i've mainly listened to these horns in vw's so i can't comment on how they sound in the scions yet...

some pople do like them...not me... IMHO I like the more open sounding sound systems..and I have used plenty of horn loaded drivers in other applications... so I do like them some applications...
