Default Need assistance - armrest troubleshooting

Didn't find anything with the search feature....

My husband just bought an armrest for my xB this evening, but for some reason he cannot get the wireclip to fit over the armrest base (I think that's what it's called).. It almost seems as if the base is not completely fitting into the opening for it... How much pressure is needed (if any) to get it to fit nicely?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

It's a forceful snap. I just reinstalled mine this week. The biggie is that the hooks really have to attach at the right part of the seat. Here's a .pdf link to the install instructions in case you do not have them (courtesy trdsparks.com, the greatest dealer in the world.)

http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PTS32-52050-XXinst.pdf

If this does not help, reply and I can snap some pics in the morning.

Good luck!

He called me on my cell right after I posted and said that he got it. After he about killed himself... lol Sounds like it was more than just a "forceful snap" to me. ;) But yeah, he had those instructions... perhaps the clip isn't exactly right. If it's not too much trouble, a pic of where the hooks are might be helpful.

(I just read this to him and he said "I ain't changing it." haha)

Thanks!

I had the same problem. i swear i clipped em in the right place, i just bent the wire to make it a little straighter, then reapplied some more deoderant under my arms afterwards. It's been on for about 2 weeks and "I ain't changing it" either.

its not too bad. I use a flat head screw driver under the wire in the little slot in the middle, pry up a little and use my fingers to slide it into possition. It is nerve racking the first time. But after you do it once it gets easier.

^^^ I did the same. it's a little more than just a "snap" - well, whatever force you need to use, you gotta get the metal bar into that groove. call for reinforcements if necessary ;]

Mine was a pain as well. And I know the clip is in the right spot. Think about it though, would you rather it was too tight, or too loose?
And my base no longer looks brand new either where I had to use a screwdriver to wedge it up into place, repeatedly.
