Default Need Audio Help! *pics*

i have a dileima! Im not an idiot about audio, i know some audio, but just the amp specs throws me off! I have hooked up to my alpine 4 3/2 Channel V-Power Series Amp is alpine sps-171a components up front hooked up to this amp on channel 3/4 and the sub 1 10" alpine SWS-1042D at 4 ohm on 1/2. my HU is alpine CDA-9851 which is powering my rear speakers alpine sps-170a, for some reason when i turn up the bass the bass goes up for comonents, rears and sub, i want more bass from subs and not from my mids. Im wondering if going with an alpine MRP-M350 mono amp for my sub and leaving the components on the other amp and switching it out with an alpine MRP-T220 2 channel amp for the components will it make it better or can it all be done the same? maybe switching the channels on the components and sub? help me out! Thanks!

specs on amp:
MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)
Bridged 4 ohms : 360W x 2
Per channel into 4 ohms : 75W x 4

RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-20kHz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 100W x 2 (0.3% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 50W x 4 (0.3% THD)
Per channel into 4 ohms : 40W x 4 (0.08% THD)

this pic is my current settings on the components with the gain almost all the way, and on the sub the gain is almost all the way as well. how does this need to be for me to have some good

please dont give dumb a$$ remarks cause im not an idiot, im probally missing something that i cant see, any help would be great! Thanks!

I assume your HU is like my old Alpine and has the 3 preamp outs, with one as a dedicated sub preamp out. And I assume you are turnning up the bass on the sub from the HU right? Did you make sure the sub preamp out is what is connected to the 1/2 on the amp? Ooo wait you are playing with the gain n stuff on the amp? Are there also gain and xover controls on the 1/2 side? If so I think that would need to have the "Filter" switch set to LP(low pass) on teh 1/2 side, and you probably wanna set it to either off or HP on the 3/4 side. If there is only one filter switch, and its on the 3/4 side, set it to HP, see if that sends the highs to the stuff on 3/4 and automatically sends lows to the 1/2.

Just thought I'd throw out some ideas. I'm just taking stabs in the dark as I've never worked with that amp...

I think you would have been better off just saying you don't have a clue about audio cuz it doesn't get any more basic than flipping the switch to hp crossing over your components to 80hz and up ( on channels 3/4 ).
