need help with bazooka upgrade kit and popping noise
I'll try and keep this as simple as I can. Got the speaker upgrade get that sparks toyota is selling. I know could have done better but it was a gift. Its all just plug and play. The only thing you realy have to install is a small cap that goes on the + and - wires that run the power mirror switch. The instruction sheet says its to stop it from feedback to the speakers. Problem one is I still get a small amount of noise if I mute the head unit and then adjust the mirrors. Is the cap bad?? Second is when I turn the key off I get a small pop out of the speakers. I read all about making a delay module but this is where it gets weird. If I have something plugged into the cigerate lighter and turn the key off the pop goes away. I have my cell charger pluged in right now. Why would a load on the cigerate lighter cause the small pop sound to go away. Like I stated ealier this is all just plug and play. The only thing was a second ground wire that came off the harness to the amp and I grounded that to the cross bar thats under the pasenger seat which is part of the floor pan. Sorry for the long post but wanted to try and clear up as much as I could.
Hey, SCV bro!
If the noise is small, is it liveable? Is the "cap" on the right way? Might be polarized? Look on the case for +/- or one wire/leg is usually longer.
Speakers pop when key is turned off? Sub or full rangers? A delay would only help with turn on thump. Is there a gain setting pot on the sub? Maybe too high? I am not familiar w/Bazookas.
A load on the electrical system could absorb the spike from your key switch contacts.
Did you grind/sand off the spot where that second ground wire contacts metal? Will the sub run without it? Maybe too may ground points?
Don't mute the HU when adjusting mirrors?
Sorry!
Just throwing stuff out there.
