Default Need interior dome light... dealer removed it for DVD.

Hello,

We just purchased our 06 xB, camo last week. We got it off the dealer lot, with 3 miles on it. We had a overhead DVD system installed. What the dealer did NOT tell us, is that it would replace the 1... and only... interior dome light. I have spoke to the dealer again, and he says that they cannot install it anywhere else... that it is either one, or the other. Anybody have any suggestions... as it is really dark inside. I would like it to be able to be activated by opening a door and by a switch inside. Hopefully they left the wiring intact!

Looking forward to some suggestions...

David

Just do a diy and tap into the wiring that is probably still there. Must dome lights from any car just use tension clips to hold it in place, so it's just a matter of making sure there is enough clearance and picking one you like. I plan on installing an extra one in the front and rear.

I know that...but there are hundreds of various domelights available on ebay thta could be modded to work by just mounting to the headliner. Just trying to give the man some options.

Yeah I would to the junkyard and grab one off whatever car looks like it will work. Im bettin the wiring for the stock one is still there. They wouldnt have a reason to remove it. You can easily relocate it. I am having the same problem. I installed a flip down screen where the dome light was. My flip down has lights in it though which I wired to the stock wiring.

ok, yeah, there are many other options...and dome lights do not weigh much.

the stock one does screw to the rib, but you are not limited to this style.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! Just drill some small holes in the DVD unit making sure ur not hitting anything of course and mount some LEDs in there mine came with some lights but it lit up the back so i added some leds to the front & problem solved & Oznium is the best place to get these Leds.
