Default NEED URGENT PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL ADVICE ON TV/ STEREO

okay, I have a 2004 Scion xb. everything stock. I have a junky subwoofer kit that i spend $150 on from best buy, it included a amp, speaker box & 2 lightning audio speakers. i have it hooked up to my battery, professionally installed. I just recently bought a FARENHEIT 7 inch headrest monitor which im using as a STAND alone in the front dashboard, and for a radio I have a brand new JVC KD-ADV6160 arsenal series dvd single dvd player, its a reg. stereo but with DVD & a video output. now my problem is when I play DVD's when i crank the radio to loud the image on the monitor flickers, i thought it might be insuficiency of power to the monitor, or the ( - ) isnt grounded right, but the monitor is perfectly fine as tested. it turn out that the RADIO itself is producing a ____y signal when the volume gets cranked. So i Sent it to get fixed, but the thing is that The tech that was going to work on it, told me its insuficiency of the battery to the radio, but every car instalation place i took it to thinks different. the thing is that in my car, when i have the volume on 0, their is no flickering, but when i crank it and the bass starts to hit, the image flickers, if I turn on the A.C it flickkers aswell, & if i turn on my high beams or windshield wipers on, it flickers as well, I thought maybe it was some sort of static the radio is producing with my car. but anyways, the Tech told me i would need either a CAPACITOR, or a 2nd battery along with a CAPACITOR.... i Need your opinions, whats really the problem, has any one had this problem in any of their scions? can it be insuficiency of battery to the DVD player when the volume is increased? or can it be a defected dvd player?

Check to make sure there are no power wires running with your signal wires. From what it sounds like, you shouldn't be pulling enough power to cause a deficiency but I could be wrong. Is your headrest monitor and radio hooked up to the same power source? If so, seperating these will probably help.

The louder you turn up the volume, the more power the internal amp in the radio is drawing and if it's on the same circuit as the monitor, that would probably explain the flickering. The monitor isn't getting enough juice.

That's really weird. I'd think even a stock xB would be able to power a 150 watt amp and a monitor, it's not THAT much draw. Sounds like you've got some sort of power issue though since whenever you use anything that eats power, it flickers.

I dont think it is the vehicle power system, it is possibly the power supply system within the head unit. Sounds like when its internal amplifier is at higher output, the power supply to the monitor is effected. How much power is the amp producing? I have a hard time believing it is NEAR enough to cause any issues for a $150 kit. I ran nearly 600 watts for 2.5 years in my 96 saturn with stock alternator and electrical system. Check your wiring over, then start looking at a potential issue with the head unit.

I had this same problem a long time ago with a piece of junk Pyle TV, that had built in radio etc, and the guy who said when you turn up the volume it uses all the power and monitor is effected is right...I unhooked all the speakers and ran a 4 channel amp to them...perfect.

Maybe that's my problem, too. I connected my two 7inch headrest monitors and the video splitter to my ipod adapter power line.
