does the stock head have pre-amp outs? if not why not just tap from the back speakers and use and a line converter?

Exactly what maximus said. Make sure you read the installation manual very well, I have a feeling this is your first install . If you know anyone who has done this before, have them shadow you or lead you in the installation.

As max said, you'll need a line convertor to go from the head unit to the amp.

First I read that the front speakers carry most of the bass, aslo I need to find a remote turn on line. Thats why Id like to find out what each wire is.

First time in a Scion yeah. I wired my jeep no problem but a diagram was a lot easier to come by.

Best buy has a male and female wiring harness, not only do they have labeled wires they also prevent you form cutting stock wires. Crimp the male and female ends togeather with the rca converter and then plug it in. I did it before i got my new radio and it worked great.

I'm making a very brash assumption here that the xB and tC use the same head unit, therefore the same connectors...

If so, here's the simple schematic for the xB's radio: http://tijil.org/RadioCD.pdf

The drawings of all the connectors is nearly 200K so I won't put it up unless you need it.

Again, that's assuming the same head unit as the stock xB...

I see the B+, ground and antenna leads are different color 'twixt the xB and tC - all others match...

Interesting...
